Boothbay
Harbor and the Boothbay region has been a favorite area to painters,
writers, photographers - to the art community at large, since the
early years of the 20th century. There are many galleries and museums
notably The Portland Museum of Art, The Farnsworth Museum and the
Wyeth Museum in Rockland and permanent collections at Bowdoin, Bates
and Colby Colleges. There are changing exhibits at the Boothbay
Foundation Art Gallery and in August the Lincoln County Arts Festival
features Art For Art Sake, an exhibit of local and visiting artists.

The
ragged and rocky coastline of small coves, a large fleet of
fishing boats, visiting yachts, the docks and fishing shacks,
beautiful flowers and wonderful light though white pine provide
compositions in all directions. The studio with tables and
easels provides comfortable working space.
